Rusted out A-pillar 82 C10
« on: October 19, 2016, 11:50:14 am »
Been trying to find replacement steel parts for the A-pillar on my 82 C-10, but to no avail.. :'(
Does anyone know if these parts are available at all. or do I have to cut out from another donor truck..?
Sure hope I can get new ones, since spare trucks are very rare her in Norway,...(if at all)
Hope to receive some positive feedbacks...... ;)

Unfortunately that is a donor part, if you know someone crafty with sheet metal they may be able to make a close match.
Is it just that one section, or is the other side the same?

Thanks for swift reply,...
I was afraid of that,...too new I guess..!!! under 73 you can buy anything....oh well,.
Other side is not as bad,...mainly up the pillar..
I will try to source someone with a good portion of sheet metal welding skills,..
thanks again,..

the outer windshield frame which is seen damaged must b replaced with a donor section; also with the rest of the A pillar damage this is also applicable since its part of the uniside assembly (drill out the spot welds and use a rust inhibitor e.g. weld through primer, Eastwood Rust Encapsulator, POR 15) since GM still used the ELPO dip with the squares when assembled new
