89-90 Suburban Headlight replacements
« on: December 31, 2016, 01:32:18 pm »
Good Day People!!!!!

I was wondering if anyone has seen or knows the proper steps to upgrade these headlights. I have a 81 c10 that i put the Suburban front clip on and i want new lights and didnt want to go back original. I've asked around a few places and people are saying that they were custom. looked on ebay for aftermarket lighting and  lights for the 88-newer pickup comes up

Thanks in advance

The original 89-91 lamps are the 4x6 sealed beam halogen bulbs.  2x low & 2x HI/LOW
Whatever you use you should build or buy a relay harness to power them.  I typically roll my own because #1 I can & #2 I use heavier gauge wires and #3 I can control the quality and type of connectors I would like to install.  NO!! I do not build harnesses for other people so don't ask.

You could go with some LHD ECE E-Code HELLA glass reflector assemblies and some decent bulbs.
There are several LED units available.  The JW Speaker Evolution 8800 series seem to have pretty decent reviews.  Maybe someone that's used them will pipe up.
