adjusting rockers
« on: January 18, 2007, 04:30:00 pm »
I'm almost done with my new engine. I have been reading alot on adjusting the rockers but i get 20 different ways to do it. I got this from trickflows website just wondered if this was right. If not how do you guys do it. This is a freshly built 350 with stock heads pushrods and rockers.only thing different is instead of stock rocker nuts I have the ones with the allen key in the middle. Here is what trickflows site said.

A. With #1 piston at TDC on the exhaust stroke, adjust the exhaust rockers of cylinders 2, 5, 6, and 7, then the intake rockers of cylinders 3, 4, 6, and 8.

B. Turn the crank 360 degrees (1 full turn) to put the #1 piston at TDC
on the compression stroke. Adjust the exhaust rockers of cylinders
1, 3, 4, and 8, then the intake rockers of cylinders 1, 2, 5, and 7.
Leave the #1 piston at TDC on the compression stroke for the rest of the reassembly.

Big Thanks to roundedline as he always has an answer.

That will work.  The allen key is a lock so it won't back off.

This is how I do it:
