Distributor power wire.

Can someone point me to some documentation on where the distributor power wire goes to? I don't think the stock one is the right gauge for the higher power modules in HEI.  I need to replace the whole wire.  74 GMC if that matters.

GM wiring diagrams.  Look in my signature.
If it's the stock ignition wire it's a resistance wire.

Did you get this figured out? I'm not getting any power to my HEI distributor on my 78' K20. I looked in that manual and didn't find anything all that specific about it. It seemed to be pointing me toward ignition switch so I put another one in it but got no fire still.
