TH400 - Need advice
« on: June 20, 2024, 08:39:39 am »
I'm still relatively new to American cars, so bear with me. I've been deal with a lot of trans leaks lately, including a pretty bad one coming from an age-hardened front pump seal.

My question is, with all these seals on the outside failing, will internal seals start failing next? Does that happen? Should I be preparing for major transmission work in my near future? The thing operates fine; just leaks a lot.

If it is just the pump seal you can pull and replace it.  I think TH400 pump seal kits are less than $50.

The leaks are fixed now. I'm just worried that they are signs of worse to come.
