6" Lift
« on: January 21, 2003, 07:33:00 pm »
Anyone have pics of their truck with a 6" lift? I'm going to put one in my truck, and I wanted to know if I had to extend the brake lines, or justmake brackets to lower them. If I lower them, anyone have pics of that?
Thanks, Tony

Simply my opinion, but on a 4, I would lower them.  With a 6, I would get longer ones, if twisty wheeling was in the future.

i just put a 6inch on a 82 suburban about a month ago... you do have to lower the brake lines. on the back i just took the bolt off the axle that holds the rubber line and let it go up and hang there.....and for the front i just cut the brackets half way and bent them facing downward and had to bend the metal part on the bottom of the rubber brake line that is by the caliper a little bit that left enough room for flex and stuff.i broke the metal brake line up top on one side by trying to do it fast, but im sure if you want to do it right they do sell extended brake lines

heres a picture of it when it was done www.mychevytruck.com/show...5215&pos=1
