converting dually rear end to single wheel?

i have been thinking about getting an old plow truck for parts someone offered me,  mid 70's 1 ton 2wd dually anyway i went and looked at it and noticed it had a dana 60 rear which i have read are awesome..... my question is can i convert it to a single wheel so i can put it in my 3/4 ton and how hard of a job is it?

Are you sure its a Dana, mid seventies chevys as far as I have ever seen had 14 bolt coprate rears, ( AAM American Axle Manafacturing ).
You can bolt up a regular rim on a dual truck, 8 lug is 8 lug except the newer stuff which is metric, Ford Super Dutys etc., & older Dodges have a smaller hub hole.
Is this parts truck a cab and chassis or a dually? The duallies have the same width rear axle housing as the single wheel pickup. A cab and chassis axle housing is between 2" & 3" narrower than a pickup. The spring perches will fit but the track width is narrower.  

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

im pretty sure its a dana, it had "60" stamped to the right of the differential cover which as far as i know means it is...this truck is a dually.. just an old plow truck my neighbor has... its got a th-400 as well..too bad its  2wd

Is the fill bung in the cover or the right hand front of the diferential housing?
