Suspension q's

im geeting ready to buy the lowering kit for the truck.
ive been looking in summit, Ebay and a local speed shop.
i want between a 2.5 to 3 front and a 4 rear drop.

Summit shows their brand front spindle for 2.5" drop for $231.39
and show their brand 4" hanger and shackle kit for $149.95
for a total of $381.34 + shipping. ( Close to $100 )

Ebay shows a SpringTech kit with a 3" spindle and 4" hanger and shackles for $330.95+ $83.00 Shipping
Total of $413.95 to my door.

Local Shops carries McGaughys kit thats 2.5" and 4" for $499.95+ tax.


now my question here is what have people has the best experience with?
ive used SpringTech stuff for other vehicles and have had great success.
ive used summit stuff before with great success.
never used a MG kit before.

so could i get some small answers from some fellow truckers.

We sell the McGaughy's kits.   Most of the major brands make a good kit though.  Summits are just relabled kits.  No info on SpringTech..

alright cool.
and correct me since its been a while.
on a 3 inch drop spindle i have to clearance the LCA to run the stock wheels correct?
im calling summit to see if they can do any better on shipping.

The summit racing parts are relabled Ground Force components. I ordered a similar kit (3" springs and 4" shackle/hanger kit) as "Summit" brand and received all Ground Force components. The springs are blue and say Ground Force in white on them and they gave me a cool Ground Force decal.

Yes depending on the manufacturer you will have to clearance the lower control arm.  Some you have to grind the caliper also.

also another thing.
this truck has the 2 piece drive shaft.
do i need to modify the hanger bearing bracket or not?
from being underneath the truck it seems it would be plenty out of the way.

also i can kick myself in the butt.
called summit and its going to be less than $400 shipped for spindles and the rear kit.

I was pretty sure that Summit has free shipping on stuff like that, you should only pay if it has to be sent via an OTR/LTL carrier such as Roadway Express, Estes, etc. They do have a handling charge, but it's not much. I have had no issues with the carrier bearing on my 2 pc. shaft and mine has the 3/4 drop.
