87 R10 Window Conversion Kit
« on: March 27, 2008, 11:02:10 pm »
Has anyone installed a Window Conversion Kit for an 87ish R10 truck? I'd like comments, pro and con regarding this kit. I'm not a fan of vent windows and in the throes of beginning my restoration so if I'm going to do this, I'll complete it before having the truck repainted this summer.

There wasn't mixed reviews on the 73-87 kit, that was the 67-72 kit.  I have had one customer complain about the 73-87 kit and he complained from the time he ordered it until 8 months after when he had it installed and decided he wanted to return it...  He was throwing a truck together in 5 weeks and ordered the glass 2.5 weeks in and they were on back order.  I told him he should skip them and refund his money, he said no, he got them 1 week before leaving for the show, the truck had JUST been painted and his interior expert (who did upholstery) couldn't figure the kit out and wanted to cut the brackets to make it work...  OPP and I both talked to him and I still offered to refund his money at 45 days (15 past my normal return policy)  He ended up installing the kit and called back 8 months later wanting me to get OPP to send him a box to ship it back.  A) return policy is 30 days, not months B) it has to be returned in the original box 3) he said he like the kit but said it had "wind noise"..

Every other kit I have sold I haven't had anyone call me and complain.
