1988 chevy 350

i recently picked up a 1988 chevy k 15 with a "edelbrock motor" said the guy but after looking into it i dont think it is. i didnt pay to much for it so i dont care (parts truck) but it has a 350 with a eldelbrock intake and throttle body almost like a tunedport motor but it not........ it has a slight skip to it and it dies when you put it in gear new plugs, wires, cap, rotor what else coule this be
