I recently got a 1996 F--d Explorer but there is a problem with the ignition. The key has to be pushed in really far in order for it to start. The whole ignition switch can be rotated freely and takes a steady hand to be able to get it to start. It does have the keyless entry but there is no microchip on the key itself and it does have the panic feature. Anyone know how difficult it would be to get it fixed? I found a new ignition switch online thats pretty cheap but i'm apprehensive about buying it if it will be a pain in the ass to replace. Its annoying to have to put up with but i don't want to spend a day fixing it.
