454 dipstick tube replacement
« on: September 09, 2008, 03:09:37 pm »
The dipstick tube is busted, im not sure of the exact location, but i know its behind the exhaust manifold. This is the last of my pesky little oil leaks so i want to get it fixed, but how does it mount? block mounted, pan mounted? how much of a pain are we talking to replace this thing? Id like to get it done before I head to michigan this weekend.

I was thinking about replacing it with a nice Lokar unit. Thoughts?

it goes in the pan and one bolt at an exaust manifold bolt. I would guess this a 10 min change if the bolt comes off without breaking.

Alright, I hope its that easy. The bolt up top looks like it MIGHT come off.
