Firewall bracket modify question.
« on: October 04, 2008, 09:50:36 pm »
Question ,
has anyone ever removed the support that holds the steering column and the brake booster from the firewall? Reason i ask is because i`m considering it and trimming the excess and making it a flush plate that will only have holes for the brake booster and the stering column.I gotta weld up the seam on the firewall behind that support so while its out why not trim it and then have it powdercoated so when the firewall is painted that part will be black and the rest will be blue.. ANy input is greatly appreciated.

thanks
pat

I have see people shave it off completely (which I plan to do on one of my trucks)  I don't see a problem removing it to clean up the firewall...
