Turbo 400
« on: November 02, 2008, 09:46:04 pm »
I have been meaning to ask this question for a while, but I keep forgetting, so here goes. I got a turbo 400 as part of the package to go with the 427 for my choptop. The only thing is that it has a bolt on yoke, kinda like the rear axle. I was going to have to get a custom drive shaft anyway, but have never seen one without the slip in yoke. I know it has a fresh rebuild, and was built to go with this engine,  but am curious as to where it originally may have came from, and should I expect anything different when hooking it up other than the driveshaft. Thanks

No problem, Just take the yoke out and put in a regular one with the same outside diameter(two different diameters used). Some trucks with a two piece drive shaft used it. Slip yoke on the rear section Have seen it run by taking the bolt out and used as a slip yoke
