r/r of a 205 transfer case

i am thinking of removing and re-installing my 205 transfer case and wondered how big of a pain it is? i have never taken a transfer case out and wondered if i am going to be beating my head against the wall or its not to bad. any pointers for a newbie or what to be careful of would also be appericated!!

They are pretty heavy. Don't try doing it alone, or without a good jack. Still not much fun. Oh and don't forget to drain it first! DAMHIK...

What he said!  My trans was easier to get back in than the transfer case.

If you are going to pull the trans case, consider resealing everything you can while it's out. (transfer case adapter if applicable).  It stinks to have to drop it for 5.00 worth of seals that are leaking.

well if you had the cab the bed off you could take a cherry picker and get it that way that is what i am going to do

a np205 is not that bad to put in i like to get a long bolt and get it lined up with that then you can push it in place. now if you really wanna have fun try the np203
