Honestly, the best way to increase your ability to fry the tires is to increase your gearing or increase your stroke of your engine.  For brute low end torque you might want to look at doing a 383 or a big block.  Other wise, bigger cams and high rise intakes all will increase your top end horsepower but you will lose torque down low.  A big lumpy cam isn't going to even START pulling until 3000+ RPM's.
