Old77, I'll have to look and see how far or if they they are below the frame, I'm not home, but I'll certainly look when I get home. I found this pic it looks like they tuck back up about frame level. But I'll check for sure and let you know.

Hey Okie! What color are you planning on painting your '85? What is the total drop going to be?

Back the orig. Desert Sand (gold) you just don't see too many that color and it's grown on me.

Welcome from Illinois

I have a 85 C20. Desert Sand.  I have considered repainting to different color, but the idea of repainting it the original color has crossed my mind. Nice project looking good so far

Old77 the hookers hang about 3" below the frame.

Like the Desert Sand 3/4 ton, nice looking truck. I know what you mean about the color, it just doesn't have much "pop" but with the new 2 stage paint it looks a bunch better.

Finally Getting the Bodywork Done
« Reply #20 on: May 22, 2011, 05:19:13 pm »
I got started this weekend on the bodywork on my 85. I did some awhile back, but this time it's going all the way to paint. The old truck is pretty straight, but like most of these trucks it has some issues. I'm going to paint it back the factory Gold, not because it's my favorite, but mainly because you don't see very many. I'll keep posting my progress here. I hope to done in 2-3 weeks. For those of you that haven't seen my truck, it is an 85 that I cut down to a SWB. Everything has been redone except the paint and dash pad. Here's a few pics and back to work. Later, Randy

Nice catch on that! It also has tilt, cruise, and power locks, kinda unusual for a Scottsdale. I added carpet, the Silverado kick panels, and carpet pc on the bottom of the doors. Thanks

Probably hard to tell in the pics, but I have done a ton of work. It's been really hot here so hard to stay with it. I've just about got it ready for primer. I need to weld up a few more holes, pull the bumpers, touch up a few spots, then primer. Hopefully this weekend. Stay tuned, LOL
