I just did a wheel arch replacement on mine and it was welded in several spots along the wheel well. I also noticed mine is welded along the top inside the bed rail and near the tail lights as well. In the past I have pulled bed sides off and just had to break the welds on the post in the rear, however along with the bedside came the inner bed wall attached. So I guess it depends where you are getting your parts from, a junkyard will probably include the inner bed wall where a replacement side crash parts probably won't.
