Today was one of them days I would sooner forget ever happened at the hanger.  Started off by hooking up the new windshield whipper motor only to find out that the switch was bad like everything else on the column not the whipper motor.  Looked at the new column and wished I had more then a few hours total.  Then I took the headlight surrounds off no problems, took the grill off broke it getting it out and it was a nice one.  Salamander ran out of fuel. Took the grill trim off and and went to put the new ones on and the mounting tabs wouldn't bite so I only got the top one on couldn't get the bottom ones to bite at all.  Got cold,  my right arm started to bother me so I turned everything off and went home.  Wendsday is going to be close to 50 so I think I'll go back down then.

Today was a much better day at the hanger.  The plastic things that hold the trim on the front of the truck are still a royal PITA but I got them on with the trim now if I could only get that one side to line up right.  Finally put the new grill and headlight surrounds on today that I got about a month ago.  Small stuff but I thought I would update a little.  Tomarrow I might try and get that steering column in it that I also pulled out of a 90 suburban about a month ago as well.  Quick question with this headlight set up when the high beams are on do the upper lights turn off?

This is my brothers 89 diesel crew cab.  His hanger is 3 down from mine.  This is our work truck and he just took it off the road for major repairs.  He is thinking about putting a utility bed back on it.

I'm beginning to think there is something tweaked in the front end of this truck.  I had a hard time trying to get the new hood to line up.  I ended up taking a drill and elongating the one bracket holes to get it to fit somewhat right.  When I put the grill guard on I noticed that the one side is closer to the side of the fender then the other side is. >:(  I was told by my neighbor to check the bushings for the front next time I go down there.

Do you guys own these hangers or just rent them ?  Looks like you got enough room to work on your trucks.

I rent from the airport.  The old ones are storage hangers.  It also floods once and a while there.  You can fit 4 cars in on of them.  I have 3 in mine.

Well since I do not know how to weld my buddy Justin took my truck to his house and with the rockers I got from the Chris's store he is fixing the last little bit of rust the truck has.  When I get pictures of the other side I will post them as well.

Isn't it a good feeling to see some new sheet metal on?
Good job getting it done!

Thank you guys.  I'm still undecided on the color I'm going to paint it.  I am leaning towards the gray that's on the new Chevy trucks but I also liked the bright blue that Chevy used a few years ago on them.  The dodge I just got a few weeks ago is blue so that's why I am leaning more towards the gray.  I think Kenny A.K.A. Chevyrado's truck is that color gray I am thinking about.  After paint then a 6" lift is next along with 35's on the 3/4 ton axles I have for it with 3.73 gears.  I don't think I will ever have an accurate speedometer in that truck.

Wow, what are you going to do when you no longer have any rust to deal with.   ::)
