You should be able to see when you back up now, those are nice.

done some real improvements since summer. ive been chasing an engine problem since i got the truck. it just never wanted to run quite right so i slowly eliminated the possibilities one by one.

full tune up
new carb
new distributer
set the timing a dozen times or so

nothing worked

finally narrowed it down to a stretched timing chain. took the cap off to watch the rotor and i could turn the ratchet on the crank pulley from 1oclock to 5oclock and the rotor wouldnt move at all :o

so i set out to do the chain. i got a gasket kit from felpro, a comp cams double roller timing chain set, a proform balancer installer and a craftsman balance/steering wheel puller. well the puller was a 2 bolt style(didnt even cross my mind) and the balacer is obviously a 3 bolt. duh. so i got 3 bolts from lowes and fired up my hypertherm to cut my own puller in 2 minutes 8)

then found exactly what i was looking for. it was this loose on both sides

put it all back together iwth the new chain and it runs like a champ 8)

i got a CB and PA hooked up now and also got a small amp from Amazon that im going to use on 2 speakers and an AUX cord for my Ipod.

I really hope you replaced those cam gears. The teeth on that upper one is absolutely SHOT. The nylon over steel is crap.

I replaced the flowmaster exhaust with a 12 inch long 3 inch Cherry Bomb glasspack and 3 inch tailpipe. its a bit louder which is exactly what i was going for and i painted it up real nice

I had a set of factory S10 tow hooks on the front but when i put the push bar on they had to come off. i had toyed around with different ideas about a tow hook on the front. not that i go offroading or anything but driving in the snow and all i mean you never know when you might need something to get you unstuck.

i dug through my scrap steel pile and found this piece that was some kind of bracket or something or other. its 3/4" thick so i figured i could cut around the holes and make it work without buying a plate and itll be something neat to tinker with i love little projects like this.

it isnt perfectly cut because 3/4s is a bit thick for my Hypertherm 30XP but hey it got the job done.

mocked it up to bolt in where the factory hooks do. then i had to cut a bit of the pushbar away

i painted it and made sure i could use the threaded plate from the S10 hook

all done!

i kept having trouble with connections rusting/corroding on the tail light wiring so i decided to redo all the connections. it has one of these junction blocks at the rear and one under the hood(one at the front end of the wires and one at the rear end of the wires). that is how the original owner wired it up. so i just removed all the excess wiring and used some heat shrink tubing and some wire coverings to make it nice and clean looking.
