I've been told by a guy who worked at railroad bazzar for a long time installing steteo systems professionally to keep my ground wires away from the positive wires if possible, that I could use a good, larger gauge, well shielded wire and to try to keep any stereo/amplifier body grounds shorter than 8 inches long to prevent interference from ignition sources. I'm not sure about it's effectiveness. But I figured it's worth mentioning.
