Mid nineties, I pulled a toy house with a '73 C30 3+3 Chevy. 454, added a "the" water injector system and could run regular gas.
I would mix the water with rubbing alcohol, H2O2, and it was wonderful.
Just before takeoff, I would draw the mix into the line going to the top of the air cleaner, where it would spray down the carb.
One trip, I got distracted after priming it, and boom! Hydro-lock, bent rod, sad kids and wife.
Good thing my buddy had a K-30 he lent me for the weekend...Disaster averted.
Got to rebuild the BB with a RV cam, and I tell you the truth: with loaded 5th wheel in tow, between 25-3500 RPM, it felt like there was nothing behind me.
I miss that truck
