Ok, So im looking at the dart platinum 64cc heads, but there PRICEY. My dad said something about 327 heads but you can get them in different HP ratings. Any truth to this? By the way I have a SBC 350 4 bolt main, holley street dominator intake, Edelbrock performer 750 and LT headers. I dont want to go with vortec heads because then I would have to buy ANOTHER intake. If these heads are a bad Idea let me know. If not, please tell me where I can find a set or feel free to suggest other heads. Ive also looked at the DART street series heads that I cant get for about 750 a set. Im not sure what cam I want to go with. Im waiting to get my heads first that way I can decide what cam will work best with the heads that I get. As far as goals for the truck, I dont necesarily want it to be fast, but want more HP, and want to be able to pull as well if need be. It will be pulling a 18 ft runabout this summer.
TIA
Ben

I would think vortecs and a new intake would be cheaper than dart or others. Plus you could sell your current intake also to recover some cash.

The EQ heads are nice. I plan to use the 180cc version featured in this
PHR engine build article
. You can get them bare from
EQ
or assembled from
Shaver Racing Engines
. Also, I found
this
eBay seller who offers them bare.
AeroHead Racing
sells Dart 165cc SS Iron Eagles assembled for $660 a pair. But these heads have
72cc chambers.

Good discussion here on affordable heads:

I myself have the Dart Iron Eagles. I like them. The RHS Vortecs are also a great buy.

I personally like the vortec heads...and I also think you could get the vortecs and an intake for the same or less money than a set of good aftermarket heads. That being said, if you really want to use an older style head summit has them:
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM%2D152123&N=700+400304+115&autoview=sku
Summit claims that these are as good as the "double hump" heads that everyone talks about, only new.
