Spend the money. By the time you get done welding a hood scoop onto your hood it will be so warped out of shape it will wave at people going down the road. Only way I would do it that route is to pop rivet a fiber glass or plastic on and leave them exposed.

I agree with Blazin, some parts you don't skimp on if you want it to look good spend the money, save somewhere else it will be worth it in the long run. And get a steel hood not fiberglass much better fit.

I agree with Blazin, ............ And get a steel hood not fiberglass much better fit.
I have a fiberglass hood on my 81 C20, and a steel cowl induction on my 86 Extended cab. The fiberglass hoood will be transfered to the drag truck in the future. It looks ok, not not as good as the steel. Save the dough, and get the right one the first time.

I have never had a steel one. I did have a fiberglass one. It fit pretty good but needed allot of block sanding to look sharp.

I agree save the coin and buy a steel hood. I found mine from a guy on ebay that was trying to sell a factory hood and he just happened to have a 2 inch steel goodmark hood. I scored it for 100.00 so the deals are out there. Trying to mold a fiberglass hood scoop to a steel hood is alot of work and to me it just doesn't look right afterwards.Spend the money wisely and go with a steel hood or go with a full fiberglass hood. Try chris here for a steel hood or try these guys.

I've never had better luck than with http://www.reflexxion.com/rfx/content/section/5/27/

The fitment was actually better than the oem hood on my 74.

Do not get the FBI or AIM steel hoods!

I bought one for my 01 Silverado and it fit like crap. Some of the welds on the underside weren't finished, they popped off and the outer skin actually bowed up on the sides.
