New old guy from Houston
« on: December 26, 2007, 10:29:10 PM »
Happy Holidays to all from Houston Texas!    I just signed up after reading the forum for hours on hours. I currently own a 77 Silverado and a 77 High Sierra GMC which I drive almost daily. The GMC has a 327 engine I built about 6 years ago to put into my 1950 Ford Sedan. It also has a beefed up 700R4 and a limited slip rear of around 3:42 ratio or so. I just paid 400 bucks for a fully loaded 77 Silverado that runs but the trans slips. It has been sitting for 3-4  years but started  and moved around periodically. It looks like I am getting into trucks deeper than I intended to. That 400 dollar truck has power windows and locks, with dual tanks, air, power steering and brakes, tilt and cruise. I just couldn't pass it up. I guess I will fix them all up and sell a couple of them. This is my 6th truck from the 73-80 style including a crew cab silverado I bought new in 77. The 50 Sedan is my real passion. I've owned it for 31 years now. Even with the full race flathead and 4speed it is too slow for me. I plan on putting that 327 in it sooner or later.  I am looking forward to sharing information and learning a lot about these trucks here.

i am in Spring. maybe we ought to get together some time and have a Truck Raising Party. I work over by the big airport so if you guys are close to there then we can do lunch or something. I usually go to lunch in Humble around 1960 and 59.

I hope Chris doesn't get mad at me for this, but it is called Outback truck parts. Send me a PM if you're interested and i'll give you my phone number and tell you how to get there.

Chris  if this is against the rules just delete this post and chastise me.  :)

Well, I don't particularly like it, but it doesn't stop people from posting   stuff everywhere. :D  I completely understand from a consumer point of view though, I will let the post stay.  Just make a donation and we are set :D.  Kidding.
