General Discussion / Re: 55 mph on highways ?

I ran the 70mph with the 4:10 and a th400.  RPM's were up for sure but other than that easy peasy... I did eventually gear mine to a 3.21 and loved it.

Many older trucks run like this on the highway. A TH350 with 4.10 gears and 33 tires will turn high rpm at speed. Running 55 is normal for that setup.

Staying in the right lane helps. Using hazard lights when traffic stacks up can help. Pulling over when there is space helps too.

Fixing the driveline vibration should be a priority. A vibration makes highway driving harder.

A gear change is an option later. A 3.73 or 3.55 gear will lower rpm. An overdrive swap like a 4L80E also helps, but it can wait.

Old trucks were not built for fast highway speeds. Watching the road ahead and letting others pass is the safest approach.

Got the insulation cover from a junk yard catalytic converter and used it to cover my fuel lines from the exhaust pipes. My brake lines got wrapped with insulation covering. A couple of picks of the stainless hangers I used for my exhaust system.

I bought a kit with assorted jets and will tune the carb. It is running rich.

Do the Sniper 2 upgrade
This is what I'm going to do.
I've got too much money and time invested in this efi shoot to back out now.
If the sniper II ends up being a problem I will be going back to a carb.  :P

I bought a couple from National Carburetor, not bad pricing.
I have actually bought several carburetors from them over the years.  8)

Mice hate Bounce dryer sheets.  I put fresh ones in my 2 squares and my 67 Ford.  Basically keeps them smelling good and the mice out.  My $0.02

A 73–87 truck can fit in a standard shipping container.

A standard container is about 8 feet wide inside and about 7 feet 10 inches tall at the door. Most 73–87 trucks fit if they are stock height and stock width.

Mirrors may need to be removed. Tires should be stock size. You may need to drive in slow and centered.

A container with side doors makes it easier to get out.

To help with mice, seal gaps, use traps, and avoid food inside the container
