« on: December 08, 2008, 12:02:39 am »
i just saw a rebuilt 383 stroker on ebay for 2000. i have the stock tbi 305 in there now. the 383 says 87 tbi. will all the parts fit the 383? like valve covers, intake manafold, and everything else needed.

I'd go with a dual plane aluminum intake myself, well, I did.  Most things should bolt right up.  I went froma 350 to a 383, since a 383 is a 350 block, it all matched, including starter, alt brackets, ps brackets, ac brackets, etc.

most things should bolt right up from a 305.  Whatever the difference b/w  a 305 and 350, well, you may have a problem. Valve covers should be fine.   There are some instances when a 305 starter is different.  The 383/350 should take a  diagonal bolt pattern starter.

I think you'd have to get bigger tbi injectors to get full use of the 383.The injectors on a 305 are flow rated at 40 lb/hr and on a 350 they're 55 lb/hr.
Here's a pretty good link to keep around- http://www.cfm-tech.com/index.htm

i dont really plan on getting it as much as i would love to. i was just wondering what all i would have to change from the 305 to the 383 if i were to get it.
