My 86 will be parked for a bit
« on: December 29, 2008, 10:01:45 am »
Well, I just bought her and posted pics... Finally got time to pull it up on ramp and look to see what was making this this rattling noise....

My flywheel is cracked where it mounts up... Also seem to be missing a few tranny bolts... Really hope they've come out and not broke off (just a pain to remove)/

Anyways, she will be parked for a month or two until I have some time to pull her apart...

Sucks!

But, thats why she's a project, right?

You can have that flexplate replaced in a few hours on your back. Just remove the driveshaft and slide the tranny back and replace it. Use loctite on your bolts too.

Flex plate at Auto Zone around here barely breaks a $25 bill.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

a $25 bill

I'd like to see one of those  :D

Heck, I'm so poor, I don't know what a $10 bill looks like.

Say, whose picture is on a $10 bill?

Not so much the money as it is time and effort....

Just a pain the rear. Is what it is!
