3" BODY LIFT YES/NO WHAT WOULD YOU DO!
« on: February 22, 2009, 11:16:53 am »
Well guys, just to start off i'd like to say what a great site and TONS of help!Well here it is,i have an 1973 3/4 4x4 with 33x12.5x16.5 tires on the ol girl, And they do clear with no rubbing, but just freakin barley im talkin, well got a  new paint job back in the summer and have noticed the few times i have had it out that the tires, being that they stick out a lil bit from the fenders is throwing rocks and chipping a lil paint on the lower part of the doors and fenders, and i Do not take this on any gravel, but once i stated to notice it i had to do somthin about it,Soo i went and bought myself some nice bowtie mud flaps, they look nice, but i just dont care for mud flaps on old nice trucks, but i have no option, well as i was about ready to mount my one mud flap, splash shield, whatever you wanna call it,i decided to check to make sure the tire would clear it,more or less the inside of the flap that points back to the inside of the fender wall, well crap!!the frickin tire hits hit, sooo now what, with todays economy i caint afford to buy a suspension lift, wich i know would be the way i'd like to go,but due to money i have to settle for another way, which is lookin like a body lift, and believe me i know how most of you feel about them, soo along with any other suggestions, besides cutting my fenders, on how i can get the rocks to stop chippin my nice new paint job does anyone have any BEFORE/AFTER PICS from the front and side of a chevy with a 2 1/2 or 3" body lift, would love hear from ya guys, check out my post awhile back that has all the  picture of my truck ,would love some comments, thanks guys, and for all the help!!

Just add a leaf to the front and get a thicker rear block. Body lifts suck and then you'll have to raise your bumpers etc. or it won't look right. Maybe you should run a wheel with a different backspacing too.

How about spraying the bottom 8" or so of the truck with chip guard or a similar product. Personally I'm not a fan of body lifts or mudflaps.
