Heater Core?
« on: March 22, 2009, 11:53:02 pm »
I asked a question a month or two ago about the heater core and ended up replacing it because it was leaking.  Now I am finding coolant leaking down into the cab and out from behind the wheel well.  It appears to me that it may be backing up out of the heater core somehow.  Does anyone have any ideas of what to look for?  Blockage?  If not im afraid I might have to pull it all back out again, to look and see.  Thanks.  87chevy k10, w/ac.

if its leeking in the cab the core is bad can be bad from the store. you should have a life time warranty with the one you just bought.
get some pics may also be a pin hole in the rubber line and its spaying in that direction idk just a suggestion

I hope its not the core again. I know its not the hoses because I already checked and replaced them last night, unfortunately its still leaking.  It doesnt appear to be leaking into the box under the dash, but just outside the firewall and then seeping through to the cab floor somewhere idk where though. Will get some pix later.  Thanks for the advice.

Most of the coolant leaks out and pools up right by the blower motor there in the picture where the paint is gone.  last time most of the fluid leaked into the cab, while this time most of it is leaking outside and down the firewall.

Pulled hoses off, saw no cracks.  When I put the hoses back on and started it up, no leaks.  Drove around the block a few times, no leaks.  Hoping somehow just a bad seal the first time I hooked it up.  Will watch it closely in near future.  thanks for all the help though.
