aluminum interior panels
« on: October 15, 2009, 02:40:51 am »
hey guys, I've been thinking about putting an aluminum dash (door to door) from diy4x.com in my 76 k5 blazer, but before I go out and buy it I want to make sure the rest my interior panels match it. I want it to be basic and look similar to a raod race car because I want my truck have an industrial feel/attitude.

building the rear panels (side & tail gate) are easy but does anyone know i can build or who can build me a pair of aluminum door panels that fit like a pair of stock panels? the hardest part seems to be the section right under the window.

I've never seen one installed in one of our trucks. As far as the door panel I would say make a thin template out of sheet metal and bring it to a a metal fabricator.

that's the best idea I've heard so far. I was talking to the guy over at dity4x.com and he's  got his thinking cap on too. hopefully it'll get figured out out and he can start fabbing them up for everyone to enjoy.
