Caught wind of an 86 K 30 cab and chassis 1 ton to day. Has a service / tool body on back, 10,000 lbs Ramsey winch on front, 454 SM 456. Gonna go look at it this weekend. He wants around $1,000 for it.

Well I went and looked at it tonight. $1,000 is his bottom dollar, $800 with out the winch. He doesn't know if the winch works or not. Owned it for 4 years and has never tried to make it work. The wires are cut of flush! Ran a little rough, black smoke I think the choke was hung a little. Trans and transfer case shift good, 4x works good. Dump body didn't move but I didn't investigate if the was power or not to the switch. The body it self is junk, the lift looks pretty decent. 6 almost new bias ply tires on it.None of the body is worth anything, the frame is very crusty, and the springs are wailed. I think I am going to buy it but need to put some $$ together.

Sounds like a great parts truck. $1000 for the 1 ton drive train is a deal in my book.

I agree its a deal. Just need to put some cash together. Things are a bit tight this time of year for me is all. Its not going any where. He is not advertising it. Plus I know I can give him some cash down and he will hold it until I put the rest of it together. asking around to my buddy's now seeing if any of them are interested in pieces parts that i don't want, dump lift etc.
