Speedometer problems
« on: February 11, 2010, 05:55:17 pm »
Hey guys i know this isn't close to a Chevrolet but i was needing some help.  I have a 2002 Dodge Neon sxt.  This last saturday i replaced the battery and ever since then the speedometer has spun around and is on the bottom side of the needle stop.  My first thought was the VSS went bad.  I don't think the gauge cluster has gone bad bc it is the only gauge acting up and the odometer inside the speedometer still works.  If anyone has any intell on this dilemma that would be great.

Hold the Trip reset button down then turn the key to the on position (not cranking)
That worked for my sisters Voyager.

Thanks for the reply.  But today at work i took the dash apart and found the gauge cluster only half plugged in.  It was an easy fix but with changing the battery and then the gauge acting up it made it sound like a sensor or gauge went out.  ;D
