th350 stuck in 1st gear

I have a th350 transmission with a 305 motor the other day i noticed my tranny was slipping so i check the fluid and it was low so i went to walmart and got some fluid to help with leaks and slipping. Now my truck is stuck in 1st gear. but then i put in neutral to push it a way from my house and my dad said if it was in gear it would not of moved. i am puzzled can any one help

Did it move in gear? Usually when they start slipping its too late unless it slipping cause littel to no fluid.  Then you might get lucky sounds shot if it won't shift out of first but check your vacuum line on the passengers side make sure its still attached and follow it to the back side of the trans make sure the rubber is still on and not cracked or anything

You might check the filter also.  I have a van that done the exact same thing.  I changed the filter and never had trouble after that.  The filter was plugged...

Pop the governor cover off and see if the gear is apple cored.
