1985 700R throttle valve
« on: June 30, 2010, 05:22:19 am »
My 85 c10 305,700r is acting like the throttle valve is stuck, exactly like unplugging a vacuum modulator. I checked the adjustment and manually moved the cable in and out with no luck. What is the quickest fix for this problem, i need to getit back on the road. thanks.

Ok, I took the pan off and the fluid looked and smelled good.  There was a small amount of silt in the pan but not too much.  The tv cable is operating properly but the valve is stuck in the full throttle position.  How do I unstick it, do I need to remove the valve body.

I'm looking for a kit that replaces the valve with an upgraded one, I heard transgo makes one.  Any suggestions?

The lever activated by the tv cable doesnt touch anything until i move it to the full throttle position.  At that point it comes in contact with a round metal cylinder in the valve body. I assumed that was the throttle valve and sliding it controlled the line pressure, am I mistaken?
