Stainless Steel Windshield Visor
« on: December 05, 2010, 07:34:27 pm »
Has anybody seen/ know where to get a stainless steel windshield visor for the 73-87 body style?  I've only ever seen 2 pictures of 2 trucks with one on it.   I have an 88 R30 Crewcab Dually and don't really want the usual Lund Fiberglass visor for it.   ;D

Nope, those are easy enough to find.  Usually when you see a chevy truck with a windshield visor its either the Lund Fiberglass "Moon Visor" or the one with the five amber lights in it.  They just screw into the cab roof / A pillars.  I'm trying to find a stainless steel visor, somewhat similar to the drop visors you see on big rigs.  I saw one on a truck being sold on eBay and I found a picture of a dually in England that's sporting one but those are the only two I've ever seen.  I'm not sure if that's an item that is available of if it has to be one-off'd or custom made.  My truck has a solid camper shell on the back (primer black) and the windshield looks a little goofy to me; like something's missing, sort of like a dude with no eyebrows  :)

That's actually pretty much what I'm looking for, although it will have to be powdercoated or painted like black chrome to match the truck.  I'm half tempted to go measure a 99' to see what kind of size difference there is, either that or maybe work one up and have the local sheet-metal shop back home in PA build one.  We'll see  :)
