3.1 gm for a 3.8 gm

hey i got a 94 olds cutlass supreme 2 door with the 3.1 and i was wanting to swap it out for an ssei pontiac 3.8 liter i was wondering how much o f a pain it would be
Don't forget the tow chain!!! Might have to tow a ford home! :)

It would be very painful.  But the 3.8 should bolt to the transaxle no problem at least?

I am going to throw a huge wrench in this for you, You have to swap transmissions first as the 3.1 and 3.8 don't have the same bellhousing pattern.  On top of that you basicically need a running donor that you can pull the whole wiring, cables, lines, etc as none of that is the same either.  And if you could find a donor running cheap enough, it would be easier just to drive it.
