I am replacing compressor, accumulator, orifice tube.  I have an 86 Chevy with 350 and it's the small r4 compressor.  Anyone have any advice for me for this is the first time I've done this in this truck.

those systems are pretty straight forward.  Make sure all the refrigerant is evacuated before you start.  If you had a compressor failure it may be worth your while to flush the system so your new compressor doesn't act as a filter for all the leftover particles.  I haven't done it myself but I have heard of some do it your selfers do the flush with brake clean and compressed air to blow everything out.  A can of flush at the local parts house is like $15.  I have seen some units with mis-adjusted clutches so you may remember to check the air gap on the new unit after install.  Do you plan on recharging the system on your own??

Have the system reclaimed and evacuated, then replace your components leaving everything as sealed as possible until you make your connections. If the compressor puked, flush the system thoroughly. Fill the compressor with PAG oil and coat the orings with PAG oil too. Reassemble, vacuum the system for at least 30 min, charge oil that was lost during evacuation, charge refrigerant to 80% of original charge and monitor pressures. Add refrigerant gradually until desired pressures are met.
