Are there different grades of rubber gas line? For instance would the gas line on the suction side of the fuel pump be of a stiffer build quality to prevent it from collapsing? And on the pressure side between the pump and carb would be a different grade of fuel line to handle the pressure?

Yes and no. Yes there are different fuel lines- regular, Fi, and diesel. No, the fuel line wont collapse from the fuel pump. BUT you want to run the line as much as possible with a steel bent line.
