Replacement Front Bumper Quality
«

Looking at buying a new front bumper for my '91 Crew Cab. The existing bumper chrome isn't perfect and there are some holes that were drilled in it...looks like for a tow-bar at some point. Since I redid the Grille and lamps on the front-end the bumper is the last thing to get freshened-up.
So...I am wondering how the quality is on the replacement bumpers. It seems that front bumpers w/o pad holes are around $190, though Goodmark sells them for like $325 for some reason?! I can't imagine there are multiple manufacturers making them. They have to all come from the same stamping tool.

If you don’t mind a black bumper, Advance Auto has Goodmark bumpers for $125 and they’re running a promo code for 20% off. I just ordered one a few days ago and it was $106-shipped. But if you want chrome... I ran a quick search and came up with one from Discount Body Parts. No idea who the manufacturer is or the quality but it’s $155 +$30 shipping.

Anybody else besides a 1st time poster that is pushing product and not actually answering my question about quality?

Why you picking on the newbie?
There are plenty of manufacturers for replacement body parts and bumpers.

Seemed odd that his very first post was to answer my question, but not actually answer my question, and instead push buying specific product.
What I was wondering is if anyone had experience with aftermarket chrome bumpers. I find that with much aftermarket product, it is thinner, or missing design features, etc.
Anyways...not trying to pull a Pirate 4x4 response on him.
Oh...almost forgot...yes there are plenty of resellers of aftermarket parts, but they aren't the manufacturer, especially when it comes to body panels. There is 1 source, and it is typically an Asian company that is stamping the parts. Every aftermarket company can't afford to machine steel stamping tools to make fenders and bumpers, etc. They would never recoup the cost of the tools. Usually the tools are refurbished GM tools that they sold off.
