weird trans issue
« on: May 16, 2011, 07:33:34 pm »
The truck has been sitting a lot since I've had the starter issue which I think I finaly fixed by swaping out the 2bolt aluminum nose cone for and old iron 3bolt one and using the starter brace starts like new finaly. Anyway the last two times I've first started the truck after it sitting for atleast a month it puked trans fluid out the top of the dipstick tube covering the pass side valve cover and header. I've never had this issue before on anything or on this truck. The transmission has about 2500-3000 miles on it with a acc 12in 2800 stall and its a summit racing 6in shaft unit with a shift kit and all that jazz. Anyone have a idea as to why it does this?

Overfull, plugged vent tube or missing bolts in the pump housing assembly. Did you replace the pump?

I have not done a think to the transmission it was a new unit I put in at the same time I did the motor in late 09 early 10'. Its got a extra capacity pan. The only thing I've done really was asjust the mod valve and need to swap gov springs/weights.
