Ok I went to the junk yard to chase this problem down.  I do not have the ESC module on my truck.  I pulled apart the wire harness on an 88 burb and followed all of the wires from the ESC module.  On the computer on the front/small plug top row number 7 pin is where that ESC module hooks up to along with the black wire with red stripe as ground the blue wire is the knock and then the other one hooks onto the injector wires.  I pulled the plug off of my computer and where the wire would be in the plug it is not there.  I am thinking mine must be the early model without the knock sensor.  I have done everything except rebuild the throttle body and put new electronics in the bottom of the distributor.  I think that those are my next steps.  What do you recomend?

Fix your driveability problem then go back to your Knock Sensor dilemma.

Ok so was at a party tonight and so happened the birthday boy and one of his friends were master techs at the shop in town.  The 87 454 did not come with a knock sensor.  They got to playing around with the motor and the one noticed that it seemed to have a recently new throttle position sensor.  He said it wasn't right and to take it to the shop and get it adjusted properly with a scan tool,  but we adjusted it to were it runs much better.  Problem is he thinks that there is a dead spot in the sensor which his says when I get it adjusted at the shop they will be able to tell for sure.  Thanks to everybody for the help.  I think I finally got this one licked though.
