Filler Tube Diameter
« on: May 08, 2011, 08:17:12 pm »
Anybody know the OD of the filler tube on our trucks? I want to order a tube for my pending blazer tank swap, but I haven't ripped into the truck yet to start it.

I'd like to get this swap done before I leave for California. I'm going to swap in a 30 gal tank before I go, and having the extra 10 gallons will mean prolly one less gas stop along the way.

I am having trouble looking for a replacement filler tube for my 76 C10 step side. The truck came from Vegas so all of the fuel (rubber) lines were dry rotted plus the truck sat for 3 years. I dropped the tank to replace the sending unit, rubber lines, and clean the tank....the fuel was brown...lol. I measure the neck on the tank for the filler hose and it was approx. 1.375 inches. So I guess it was around 1 3/8 inches.

No prob slammed79 i still could not find the replacement filler hose that connects to the tank on my truck so i inspected the old one....at first glance i thought it was dry rotted but after looking closely at the surface whatever coating they used when they make the hose was what was flaking so its still in "ok" condition so i reinstalled it....would i like new replacement? yes...but since its been discontinued i have to make due for now.

Trying to find stock replacement stuff will be hard if not impossible. The hose that Napa sells is universal, but if what you've got works then even better.
