don't see many like this
« on: July 17, 2011, 11:19:43 pm »
Here is a pic of a c10 that belongs to one of my dad's old friends. He did the work back in the '90s. I'm not too crazy about the end result but I do appreciate the work and talent involved and definate out of the box thinking. He has several other hotrods that could leave your jaw on the floor. He does amazing work and doesn't farm any of it out, He is one of the few that got me going in the hobby back when, motivated me and sold me parts cheap.
here it is, chopped narrowed fleetside box, lengthened and narrowed frame and body and some other stuff. I do love the taillights.

Angling the front fenders in like he did and adding the fender flares had to be a huge undertaking. I love the retro look and the headlights are great! He's one talented guy!

He is defiantanly old school, you can see it in several of the touches he put on.  Fenders, tail lights, small round back window, just to name a few.  I bet his heart lies with the 60's era stuff.

Wow!  That is really over the top.  It's an impressive custom.  Dig the cad' tail lights.  Can't see much of the engine but I bet it's got a lot of chrome.

The engine is a run of the mill 454. most of the parts are from the mid 30's (bumpers lights etc). There is a huge car phone from the 90's built in to the dash ;). I think its impressive that the cab was narrowed 6"'s if I remember right. he's got vehicles from every era but most impressive is a car he built the entire body to mount on the chassis. I forget the details of it but it is rare some car that would have been originially built; chassis only then sent to a coach builder. valued at over 2.4 mil in the late 90's after his resto.

They say art is in the eye of the beholder.  Picasso's stuff is very valuable, but, I don't like his "art". But, on this, like mentioned, you have to respect his talent and love for detail.  Definately will turn heads and a conversation piece.  Just not my cup of tea.
