another trans question

i have a 700r4 and smells burnt. should i change the filter and fluid or leave it alone?

What color is the fluid?  Is it slipping?  When was the last time it got changed?

fluid is pink i changed it and filter a week ago burnt smell is less.tranny hasnt slipped or anything still works great.just worried about the smell.it used to be a big nasty smell,but not i cant smell it unless i pull the dipstick but levels great and has a faint smell

What color was it before you change it?  If it isn't slipping you should be ok...

Keep in mind if you just pulled the trans pan and changed the fluid/filter that didn't change all of it.  The torque convertor holds about 4 quarts just by itself...

Here its a trick I learned from an old wise man... Take off both Trans cooler lines from the radiator, put the bottom one in a bucket and the to one in a bucket of Trans fluid turn the engine on and keep filling the bucket up with Trans fluid till the bottom line is a good red color. Did this to my other vehicles its not to hard.

No prob. all you need is some hoseclamps and some hose. No need to pay a shop I if you can do it yourself
