454 question

ok i have a 82 c30 with the stock engine and stock set up it might have raised gears idk but today on my way home from work which is 62 miles 1 way i decided to do a little testing of what its max speed was. well by what i know it feels like it has more to give but once i hit 85 it drops down to 75 then it recatches its self would this be not enough fuel at wot. if anyone can help me please let me know cause even going down the road if its a wot for accelerating it has a good bit of lag and somewhat surging

Sounds like your fuel filter to me needs to be replaced

where would the fuel filter be on my truck is it like most vehicles on the frame rail or is it in the carb

Carb, take the fuel line loose at the carb and there is a housing that you remove that takes a 1" wrench, the fuel line is a 5/8" wrench
