Disaster Wiring
«

I have an 83 K1500 and most of the wiring has been cut up/spliced incorrectly or unnecessarily. I have cleaned up alot of the extra clutter and am slowly getting everything back to functional. I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation on a source to get individual wiring sets. For example, I purchased a new wiper switch, but the wiring doesn't seem to be there that plugs into it.
Is there a place I can get just the wiring I need for this switch to function instead of getting a new wiring harness?
Most of the stuff on it is working, just a few annoying things like wipers are missing. I have come up empty on an internet search. Thanks.

store in kansas has a bunch of that stuff... some parts stores carry a lot of the electrical connectors too. You just have to know what to call it.

hey the wipers only have 2 seperate plugs that plug right below it in the firewall harness. they are actually the shortest wires coming from the firewall harness. I hope im making sense. but you should be able to visit any junk yard andd just snatch those out. Also search, search, and search. I actually removed my entire chassis harness from my truck. Then the wiring diagrams began to make sense. also i second what Boone said. i used repair connector to find missing parts of my harness

I was on Rock Auto and they list a lot of electrical connectors. This would get you new connectors and then you could use new wires to make up the rest of the circuit.

Thank you all. Ok, so new wires it is. I'm not the best at this, but I'm assuming the wiper motor connects to it and the circuit break box for the power.

complete would be easier, but whatever works. That link is helpful. I'll get in it and sort/look harder tomorrow. If only the guy who had it before me had the old wiper switch actually connected

Here's the
1983 Wiring Manual
if you need it. It takes a few minutes to download. You can save it to your hard drive for quicker access in the future.

Good news. I believe I found on of the two electrical connections (the larger 3 prong). It was plugged into an empty black box which i assume was a delay relay at one time. Still no two prong in sight.
