Deer vs 86 C10 on the Highway

So I was driving on the turnpike in PA and a deer jumped into my lane from the woods, no time to react.  Impact was probably at around 60mph.

That sucks but at least salvageable. I hit a deer on my Harley and it wasn't pretty. I feel your pain

No worries. Id fix it and keep it running. Wish I had some deer right now :-) looks like it might be a fender, core support, grill and trim, and a Bezel. Not bad less than $300 if you find someone parting theirs out.

What's under the hood??? If you have to ask maybe we shouldn't race...

I had a passenger and luckily nobody was hurt.

The damage is worse than what the pictures show. I can't pop the hood and I think the engine is running hot, the temp in the cab got real warm when I was pulled over. The temp guage doesn't work after the collision, it just spikes.

The fender is pushed towards the rear and bent the door a little bit when I opened it. The door also rubbed the cab on the handle side.

couple questions, one you hit the "rear" of the deer? did you get the meat or did she just walk away? is your hood damaged? want to see the damage in the engine bay

I lost site before I hit so I'm not sure where I connected. I'm pretty sure I ran it over. The plastic runner under the bumper is cracked too. It was laying dead in the fast lane right across from where I pulled off on the shoulder. Then the poor guy got run over by another car and disapeered. When we got back on the highway I couldn't see where it went.

Amazingly no hood damage that I can tell.


I can't open the hood to inspect the engine bay. I haven't tried too hard yet.

Trust it will be ok. Glad to hear no one got hurt. A Lil aligning of for hinges core support hood latch and Fenner will get you back in the game you'll still be Les than 300 out of pocket b4 paint. Btw... Anyone ever wondered what's up with these deer and squirrels running out in front of vehicles?

What's under the hood??? If you have to ask maybe we shouldn't race...
