Tubular A-arms and coil springs
« on: June 13, 2006, 12:06:00 pm »
Those of you that have installed tubular A-Arms and drop coils, where did you get them and how do you like them? I'm considering them on my 1974 GMC 454 2wd.
I have belltech 2"drop spindles but I need to replace fatigued coils so while I'm in there...ya know

I have some on my previous truck that is my current truck being built up on the 73-87truck section here.  They are Suspension Techniques and I have had them forever (12+ years).  I like them.

DJM makes some like them now as Suspension Techniques no longer makes them for trucks.

Well I've determined these A-arms are a waste of money so I'm just gonna reuse the stock ones and modify them slightly. I'm just going to replace the springs.

sorry to here you think there a waste of money, yeah there pricey , I bought mine bout 6yrs ago from chassis tech, one of the best investments I've put on my truck, after I totaled the factory ones on I-270 at 70 mph ,hit a raised bridge approuch running to low , drove the a-arm back almost in to the fender, that sucked, & man they look soooo good ..roll low ..drag hard

I have stock bottom A arms and Chisolm Suspension upper tubular arms. I don't think Chislom is around anymore though.

Chisholm is still around, but they don't advertise on the web anymore.
