I am wondering if anyone has installed the gauges on a truck that has dual fuel tanks? The manual says to run two wires to the sender and I'm not sure the easiest way to hook it up to switch tanks with the dash mounted tank switch. Any help would be appreciated.

There is only one fuel sending wire, when the tank switches it just changes to the other one on the back side of the switch. You only need one wire under the dash to the cluster to the Dakota box.

Hey Capt. curiosity just got the better of me. I just went through all the wiring diagrams for 77 - 80 and found nothing showing the dual switch in the dash or the switching mechanism under the cab, did I miss something ?

So I can tie into the pink sender wire ( #18 in the plug for the factory cluster) and not worry about the ground?

Yes you can. Dakota recommends running a ground wire from then sending unit lid to the FUEL - of the controller box.
